Artist's Comments

Size Zero__The Disease

EDIT: Obviously a very simple manip, but totally unpolished when I submitted it the first time.
*I've now done Blurring and darkening...correction to the measure-tape...
***Because there is just too many comments, and I'm only human, and simply cannot get back to You all, or reply to each one without repeating myself, in short, this will be the answer to everyone who asked... The rose was not the part of this Pic, it was Photoshopped-in.
The tattered blindfold stands for "distorted vision".

All Your support is very appreciated. Print might be coming soon.
Thank You everyone for each and every comment and for sharing Your opinions about this.
You all have my love. But also thanks to all the perverts who left me the most ridiculous comments/Notes that I've EVER read for all my time-being here on dA. :)

“You will be dead before You’re thin enough.”

The concept: The other day me and my girlfriends had a huge argument about the famous
“Size 0” and I was shocked to hear that some of them actually sort of agree on how a modern woman should be stick-thin, or in other words- she should have a “lollipop-body figure“ because only then will she be successful in life… I think that’s crap. Got curves? Love them!

*Not that I have anything against thin. It’s beautiful. It’s full of detail.
But only if it’s natural thin, genetic thin… Not “demanded” thin.

Therefore, I dedicate this to all those who feed us lies on how a woman’s body is intended to be.
(As far as they’re concerned we should all walk around skinny and brainless... )
-
*The body is not photo-manipulated, but the Model is not *that* skinny in real life. for this shot she had to suck it in a little. But Please, no comments about the Model’s body.
What I'd love to hear is what You all think about this concept and if anyone shares my views.
Thank You.

I can't stand when my friends talk about how "fat" they are, and how she needs a diet and blah blah blah...
I believe everyone is beautiful the way they are... they just have to believe it themselves...
:iconelandria:
I wouldn't even have a clue what the hell size 0 is but apparently its thinner than me... and that's just plain "you need to see a doctor about the state of your head let alone your body" Women shouldn't be categorised or measured or held to a "popular opinion" (that's probably made by a bloke)

This is as ever an expressive and graphic piece of artwork that's very appropriate in today's "follow the herd" climate... I just hope some of the women/girls who see this will realise that being a part of a successful society doesn't mean making yourself ill....

absolutely fantastic work Nina, it drives the point across so well. I agree with you on this by the way , it is far more important to be healthy...
:iconchilek:
i agree with you.
beautiful image, great message...
:icondaughter-of-hecate:
I have always had curves. I love them! I think today's idea of beauty is ludacris. Look at the beauties of Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, Jane Russell, and so on. They were never a size "0". They had curvaceous bodies. To me, they were simply the most beautiful goddesses ever imagined. Embrace your body type, no matter what it is.

Although this picture frightens me a little, I've faved due to the comments. I agree on your views, I find the modern view on the female body horrible. Truly horrible. And i REALLY don't understand the guys who find such girls attractive. If she's naturally thin or slender then fine, that's beautiful too, but that thing your picture portrays is almost disgustingly sick..

Like the concept even though it's harsh.

BTW.. The title's great for that picture..

I got curves and im proud! here in Venezuela is hard to see someone very thin without curves, but still is a serius problem...

hell yea! I completely agree with you. The image of women today is complete distorted. There is NOTHING wrong with curves! I love mine. and others should too. I love this photo as well, great job!
